Ram, Hard Drives and Nerd-dom

Dear Readers:
I have been away. Have you noticed? My computer, once again, was sick. Like totally sick.

Like, stick-me-with-a-fork-because-I’m-done sick.

And this was after I quadrupled the RAM. Turd computer.

I thought the RAM would fix the problem…but alas…it did not. It did this. Over and over and over.

Sometimes, it would randomly turn black, stop whirring and make a noise that sounded like “pew”.

Sufficed to say, my hard drive crashed. Hard. (pun totally intended).

So, Biceps bought me one of these and guess which totally ill-equipped, non-computery girl installed it all by herself?

Yep. This gal. I’m pretty happy with myself.

It’s good to be back, dear readers. I’ve missed you.

-Love, Rebekah

I bet you’ve been wondering why.

Dear Readers:
I have missed all of you. I have missed your comments, your emails and your encouragement.

I bet you’ve been wondering why this lady who is normally an avid poster has been so silent this week. Or maybe not. Either way, it has grieved me to not share new recipes, new projects and my thoughts with all of you.

Here is the “why” behind my silence.

See this naughty little white girl? She has been a pain in my butt.

It’s been doing this a lot. A LOT.

I think I heard it cough once or twice and sputter something out about “I’ve had a good life…”. Seriously. My little computer was in a bad way.

Apparently, I only have one of these on my computer and I need at least a family of four.

I’m waiting patiently for it to arrive by mail. So, I’m keeping my time on this old girl to a minimum.

I hope you can handle a few days’ more of Rebekah’s quietness. I know it’ll be tough, but I’m sure you are tougher and can push through.

Sincerely yours-

Rebekah.

Learning Patience-Funny, God

Dear Readers:
Have you ever prayed for something and have been blessed to receive an answer to that prayer-even more than you were expecting?

Well, funny thing is, I’ve been praying for patience in preparation for children.

After taking my MacBook to be repaired, God answered my prayer. In a very real way.

Upon bringing home my newly “repaired” MacBook, I realized something was different about it.

For example, this is what I’ve been staring at for close to four days now. The cheery colors swirl while my computer hums, taking its time to open a program (at least 10 minutes), change between my email and iphoto (spastic in and out minimizing and maximizing of the screens) or try to open WordPress to write a post (this has taken me almost 45 minutes to write, due to crashing, slow uploading and inadvertent deletions).

I’ve run disk utility in order to repair it several times. Everything seems to be “clean” and ready to go, but the swirl keeps on a swirlin’. I’ve tried everything to get this stinker running again.

I have no idea what the “geniuses” did to my computer. Maybe they heard from the Lord and sabotaged my computer so that I may learn patience.

Funny, God. Real Funny.
