Grandma Broke Her Neck and her Nose and….

Dear Readers:
I have heard from many of you through private emails that you are encouraged by the times I talk about God, his Word and his faithfulness. Today, I am reaching out to those that call God their Lord and asking for prayer.

My sweet, wonderful Grandma-who is going to be 97 next month-broke her neck, busted her nose, managed to get two black eyes and lacerated her noggin.

She was doing extreme sports, getting ready for the upcoming snowboarding season and didn’t quite stick her landing.

She’s a tough old bird and didn’t go down without a fight. As she crawled to the phone, she left a trail of blood behind her. I’m telling you, she’s tough.

The doctors have said it’s a miracle she survived, let alone survived without being permanently paralyzed. We know just who had His hand in that. I don’t think she’s ready to go home, she still has so much she wants to do here on earth.

After all, we are promised 120 years, so she’s got at least another 23 years of active participation in this life. (I secretly think she is waiting for me to pop out a great-grandkid or two.)

So, please be praying for her quick recovery and the ability to go home soon. Thanks so much!

Your poor grandma. I’ll be praying for a swift recovery for her. Several years ago Ben’s grandma fell out of bed while asleep and also broke her neck. She was completely paralyzed until the end of her life. It was really sad and horrible. I’m so glad to hear your grandma isn’t paralyzed. What a blessing!

I kind of teared up reading this. I just lost an aunt to a serious stroke and it was so sad to see her go like that. My prayers go up for your Grandma. We all love her through you.

      Mary-
Thank you so much. Prayer is such a powerful tool and I truly appreciate yours. I am really sorry to hear about your Aunt. It’s never easy loosing someone we love. We have the hope of seeing them again though, don’t we? That’s such a comfort to me! I can’t wait to see Grandpa Greiman again someday. I really miss him.

I will certainly be lifting your grandmother up in prayer for a complete recovery. God needs tough people here on earth to help those of us who are much weaker.

I will also pray that she learns to stick that landing! We want to see her do a glorious, God inspired landing before her 120 years are up.

Praying! I hope she recovers quickly and keeps her chin up as she tries out her new normal 97 year-old life…my mom used to say growing old isn’t for cowards and your grandma certainly is not one of those!

Thank you for sharing this post, it is inspiring and reassuring. My grandmother fell this past weekend at 90 and broke both of the bones in her forearm. For as long as I can remember she has been the epitome of independence and it has been hard for us all to watch her struggle. Her determination to heal is strong and her faith is stronger so I know everything will be okay. Wishing your grandmother a speedy recover and another great 23+ years. You’re in my thoughts and prayers.
